CFDA award-winning designer, Rogan Gregory and Target have partnered for the second time, promoting a line of environmentally friendly apparel for spring. After the success of Gregory’s first line for the retailer, with the collection selling out in days, the designer will be launching a collection based on Loomstate, his eco-friendly line. The Loomstate for Target line will offer men’s and women’s apparel, priced between $14.99 and $44.99, using environmentally sustainable materials such as 100 percent certified organic cotton, linen and silk.

Summit Entertainment’s new film, Twilight, is set to open in a matter of hours, and has already proved a recession-beating licensing deal for teen specialty store chain, Hot Topic. Despite dismal retail sales of late, Hot Topic posted Q3 sales and earnings that beat analysts’ expectations, and the specialty chain maintained their Q4 forecast, rather than lowering it in line with the majority of U.S. retail conglomerates. Hot Topic posted a Q3 profit increase of 11.4%, largely attributed to an influx of sales from the licensing deal with the teen movie Twilight.

Licensing International Expo exhibitor HIT Entertainment (Booth #2418 & #2622) and theme park-operator Merlin Entertainments have partnered to produce a 4-D film Bob the Builder and the Roller Coaster to be shown exclusively at Legoland theme parks worldwide beginning March 2009. The 10-minute film uses 3-D computer-generated animation with special glasses, plus special effects—such as wind and mist in the theater—for a 4-D effect.
