Bluewater to Release Michael Jackson Collectible Comic

A special collectors’ edition biography comic based on Michael Jackson is set to release in October through Bluewater Productions. “Tribute: Michael Jackson, King of Pop,” will follow Jackson’s rise to fame, beginning with the Jackson 5, to his last days. The book will also feature a wraparound cover and a forward by The Official Michael Jackson Fan Club’s Giuseppe Mazzalo. The comic bio is written by Wey-Yuih Loh and illustrated by Giovanni Timpano.

MTV Games Hires Two Execs

Guthrie, a former executive vice president of publishing for THQ, has been appointed as MTV Games’ new executive vice president and general manager, where he will oversee the game publisher’s management team.

‘G-Force,’ ‘Toy Story Mania!’ Games Add 3D Technology

Disney Interactive Studios plan to add 3D stereoscopic technology to its upcoming movie-based video games, G-Force and Toy Story Mania! Both games will allow fans to turn on 3-D features, which will require them to wear 3-D glasses. Two sets of 3D glasses will come in each game package. The G-Force game (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) will be available on July 21 and Toy Story Mania! (Wii) this fall.

Marvel, Upper Deck Team for Trading Cards

A line of Marvel trading card games, miniature games and trading cards from Upper Deck will debut in January 2010. GI Joe Book, Warriors Comics for iPhone Out Soon

Paramount Licensing has revealed the release dates for a GI Joe movie companion book and The Warriors-based iPhone game. GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra: Mission Dossier from Titan Books will be available in the US on July 21 and in the UK. on July 24. The title is the official companion book for Paramount Pictures’ GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra, to be released worldwide on August 7.
