			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In anticipation of the new season of &#8220;Doctor Who,&#8221; BBC Worldwide plans to roll out new merchandise from existing partners, as well as new licensee Wow! Stuff.<span id="more-9120"></span></p>
<p>Wow! Stuff has been tapped to produce a line of adult gift items for the new season, which premieres this Saturday and features the eleventh doctor, played by Matt Smith. The range for fall 2010 will include clocks, watches, desktop accessories and salt and pepper shakers.</p>
<p>Current licensees will also launch new lines such as master toy partner Character Options (fall/winter 2010), as well as Christy’s for dress-up (summer), Bon Bon for seasonal confectionery, Royal Mint for commemorative medals, Pyramid for posters and Ravensburger for jigsaw puzzles.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This month, PBS host and author Katie Brown is rolling out a line of patio furniture and kitchen gadgets exclusively at Meijer stores.<span id="more-9095"></span></p>
<p>The Katie Brown range for Meijer will include kitchen textile items, tabletop products, patio furniture, outdoor décor accents and gardening tools in two distinct lines—the Orchard Collection and Northern Shores Collection. This September, the line will expand into bed and bath products and home décor. During the holidays, the retailer will launch Katie Brown-inspired kitchen ornaments, stockings, skirts, tabletop textiles and accent tableware. In 2011, the range will extend to bakeware, pictures frames, a refreshed seasonal garden line, pantryware, fresh floral, room organizers and craft organization.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is an exclusive line of products that we and Katie have been working on for more than a year,” says Bryan O&#8217;Connell, group vice president of hardlines at Meijer. “It&#8217;s unlike anything we&#8217;ve ever done before in terms of creating a high-quality, great-value product line with an outside partner of Katie&#8217;s stature. We&#8217;re confident that Meijer shoppers will connect strongly to these designs, products and prices.&#8221;</p>
<p>The initial range of Katie Brown products are hitting all 191 Meijer stores now throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. Brown is the host of PBS’ “Katie Brown Workshop.”</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Electrolux Global Brand Licensing recently granted U.K. retailer Tesco the rights to use its Tricity brand on a new range of small domestic appliances. This is the first partnership for the two companies.<span id="more-8963"></span></p>
<p>The appliance line is arriving now at more than 600 Tesco stores throughout the U.K. and Ireland, as well as online at Tesco Direct. The range has nine products, including a slow cooker and steam iron—all exclusive to Tesco.</p>
<p>“We have many retailers interested in using a familiar brand name for their business,” says Matthew Young, head of Electrolux Global Brand Licensing. “It’s much easier to ride the strength of a known entity. Consumers trust the brand name, retailers can spend less in advertising, and we can introduce our brands to even more customers.”</p>

<p>The new fashion brands include Ellen Tracy for women’s better sportswear, Kouture by Kimora for young trendsetter apparel, Threads &amp; Heirs for men’s casualwear and mstylelab for jewelry and hair accessories for young contemporary consumers. The home line expansions include multiple mattress styles for the Martha Stewart Collection and casual Latin-inspired dinnerware for Vida for España by Eva Mendes.</p>
<p>In other Macy’s news, the latest Kenneth Cole Reaction men’s sportswear line will be available exclusively this fall at stores within the U.S. and its territories.</p>
<p>The men’s collection will include denim, graphic tees and woven shirts—all targeting a young, casual and price-conscious demographic. The sportswear will initially hit 150 Macy’s stores and online at www.macys.com in September. The in-store rollout will see the apparel in Reaction-themed, shop-within-a-shop concepts. A further 550 store launch will follow. The sportswear range builds upon Macy’s current Kenneth Cole Reaction offerings such as footwear, outerwear, tailored clothing, dress shirts and ties, pants, bags and luggage, small leather goods, belts, men’s jewelry, sunglasses and fragrance.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This spring, Target’s Liberty of London line will arrive at stores. It’s the first time a collection will span a number of categories at the retailer.<span id="more-8591"></span></p>
<p>The Liberty of London for Target line will include fashion and accessories for women, men, children and baby, as well as home and gardening items. The range includes tops, dresses, swimsuits and intimates for women; woven shirts, ties and boxers for men; and clothing and bedding for babies and girls. Other items include bicycles, teapots and tote bags.</p>
<p>The assortments, which will feature bold florals and prints, will hit stores March 14 for a limited time. The line will vary from store to store and additional items will be available at www.target.com. It will retail from $3.99 for a girls’ headband set to $199.99 for a bicycle.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Chorion has announced new licensing deals for its Mr Men and Little Miss brand across the U.S. and Latin America. <span id="more-8593"></span></p>
<p>In the U.S., toy manufacturer Flapjacks will produce luggage tags, flip journals and vinyl figures. Paper Magic Group, an affiliate of CSS Industries, is poised to launch stickers, seasonal gift-wrap and Valentine’s themed products. </p>
<p>Ouchies has produced Mr Men and Little Miss bandages, available online and in stores across North America, with Giant Tree House introducing a range of sidewalk chalk sets, garden sets, garden tools, window sill gardens, garden ornaments and picnic sets.</p>
<p>HYP Hats is developing a line of hosiery, flip-flops, socks and slippers, with Crocs launching an exclusive line of Mr Men and Little Miss Jibbitz shoe charms for its distinctive shoe range. </p>
<p>In addition to its recent partnership with Scrollmotion to bring Mr Men and Little Miss books to Apple Stores as downloadable digital books with animated interactive content, Chorion has also secured a range of customized gel skins for electronics from Gelaskins. The brand will also now benefit from themed cookies from Color-A-Cookie, available at retailers 7-Eleven, Cost Plus and A&amp;P Supermarkets. </p>
<p>Meanwhile in Latin American, Chorion has appointed United Labels to develop a customized range of flip-flops and watches for the Paris S.A department store chain in Chile. Chorion’s Latin American agent Exim Licensing Group has signed apparel licensees, including Styleprint in Peru for kids’ pajamas and the Paris S.A department store chain in Chile for apparel, plush, slippers and toothbrushes. Exim has also secured deals in Mexico with Esport Mundial for lollipop and gummy candies; Photopack to produce backpacks, rolling messenger bags, pencil cases and caps; and Industrias Confeti for T-shirts.</p>
<p>Finally, in a promotion with Pollo Campero Restaurants across Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, each week two Mr Men and Little Miss figurines will be given away in the kids’ meal. A total of eight different collectible figurines will be featured in the promotion. </p>
<p>“Current deals in key categories made with high-quality licensees create an ideal base to deliver good results, develop the brand across Latin America and generate more exposure for Mr Men and Little Miss,” says Diego Barassi, senior vice president of regional marketing at Exim Licensing. “Our next step is to establish the brand by closing deals in additional categories, as well as try to develop new targets for the property.”</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Powercam has been tapped to produce a line of branded electronic accessories for Jumpstart Automotive Group’s <em>Car and Driver</em> magazine to hit stores in March.<span id="more-8035"></span></p>
<p>The initial line in the three-year licensing deal will include cellular cases, chargers, universal chargers and Bluetooth headsets, featuring the <em>Car and Driver logo and name. Other planned accessories include branded flashlights, jump-starters and tire gauges. The products will be available this spring at major retailers and online in the U.S. and Canada.</p>
<p>“Powercam’s quality accessories exceeded the high expectations of the <em>Car and Driver</em> team and we’re certain our loyal audience will be impressed by the quality of the new line of products, on the road and off,” says Zvia Herrmann, vice president of brand development at <em>Car and Driver.</em> </p>

<p>The U.S. discount retailer already offers shoppers outdoor furniture, gardening and décor solutions through its Smith &amp; Hawken for Target collection. The line has been available exclusively at its stores and at <a href="http://www.target.com" target="_blank">www.target.com</a> since 2006.</p>
<p>“We’re thrilled to own such an admired and iconic brand,” says Kathee Tesija, executive vice president of merchandising for Target. “We believe the Smith &amp; Hawken brand complements our existing portfolio of owned brands and provides our guests with another compelling reason to shop Target.”</p>
<p>Marysville, Ohio-based The Scotts Company is a subsidiary of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company.</p>

<p>The exclusive Target line by the Food Network chef includes a 4-quart sauté pan, six-piece ceramic bakeware gift set, a two-block cutlery set and a stainless steel panini grill, as well as three pasta sauces, pesto, light vinaigrettes, flavored coffees and aprons. The collection retails from $6.99 to $199.99.</p>
<p>“Our guests want kitchen gear that makes their daily cooking easier and more enjoyable and Giada&#8217;s collection delivers,&#8221; says Kathee Tesija, executive vice president of merchandising at Target. &#8220;We combined our design expertise with Giada&#8217;s culinary background to create a product collection that pairs utility with great design and affordability.&#8221;</p>
<p>Meanwhile, beginning this year, De Laurentiis will serve as spokesperson for affordable groceries at Target and SuperTarget stores.<br />
De Laurentiis is the host of five Food Network shows, including “Everyday Italian” and “Giada at Home.” Her latest book “Giada at Home Family Recipes from Italy and California,” published by Clarkson Potter, will hit stores on March 30.</p>

The bedding line, under the brand name Villa Di Borghese, will be packaged with samples of Borghese skin care products and will roll out in mid-October at Bloomingdale’s. The 300-thread-count collection will feature a bed pillow, comforter, spa pillow, booties and spa body wrap &#8212; all in either white or ivory and finished with a natural aloe vera treatment. <span id="more-6901"></span></p>

<p>In the first of a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/disneyliving" target="_blank">seven-part video series,</a> Lasseter introduces the new collectible Toy Story Definitive toy line from Thinkway Toys and Disney Consumer Products. The range features film-accurate replicas of Sheriff Woody, Rex, space aliens, RC Remote Control Car and Buzz Lightyear. The toys are available now at mass retailers, Disney Stores and <a href="http://www.disneystores.com" target="_blank">www.disneystores.com</a>.</p>
<p>This October, the first two classic films in the Toy Story franchise will be re-released in 3D, followed by a third new movie in summer 2010. Other licensed merchandise will hit retailers this fall. Products will include light-up apparel, home décor, a motor-powered Buzz Lightyear robot with 25 voice commands, food, personal care, stationery and party items. <em>Toy Story 3</em> ranges will be available at the time of the movie&#8217;s release.</p>
