Disney Moves Forward with Shanghai Theme Park
Further steps have been made to launch a Walt Disney theme park in Shanghai. The central government of China recently approved a project application report submitted by the entertainment company.
If the final deal is permitted, Disney would begin development work on a Magic Kingdom-style park with Shanghai characteristics, as well as services similar to the company’s other worldwide attractions.
“China is one of the most dynamic, exciting and important countries in the world, and this approval marks a very significant milestone for The Walt Disney Company in mainland China,” says Robert A. Iger, president and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company.
