Entertainment Rights Nears Asset Selloff
Entertainment Rights (Booth #2835) is finalizing deals with a number of bidders for parts of the business, according to a statement to the London Stock Exchange. The Postman Pat to Lassie IP business said that it was not in any talks for the business as a whole. The company has secured short term funding to keep it going until the sales are complete. A number of trade and private equity businesses have been associated with the sale talks.
Spectrum Equity has been reported to have an offer on the table with Eric Ellenbogen, co-founder of Classic Media, which ER bought for over £100 million ($140 million) in 2007. Other parties that have been reported to be interested in parts of the business are HIT Entertainment (Booths #2418, #2622) with its investor Apax, Cookie Jar (Suite #18), TV-Loonland, 3i, which holds a stake in Chorion (Booth #1851), and Saban Capital.
