‘G-Force,’ ‘Toy Story Mania!’ Games Add 3D Technology

Disney Interactive Studios plan to add 3D stereoscopic technology to its upcoming movie-based video games, G-Force and Toy Story Mania! Both games will allow fans to turn on 3-D features, which will require them to wear 3-D glasses. Two sets of 3D glasses will come in each game package. The G-Force game (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) will be available on July 21 and Toy Story Mania! (Wii) this fall.

“Like the 3-D effects in some feature films, the goal for adding 3D in G-Force enabled the two miniature creatures — guinea pig Darwin and housefly Mooch — to appear to come forward from the screen, which creates a unique experience for the player,” says Rob Neuman, 3-D technology expert and supervisor at Disney Interactive Studios. “The dawn of three-dimensional technology in films has taken over the cineplex and it’s obvious that video games are the next medium to see this trend.”
