Hasbro Studios Taps Two Senior Execs

Two senior executives, Lisa Licht and Linda Steiner, have recently joined the newly formed Hasbro Studios.
Licht was promoted to general manager of Hasbro Studios. She had been general manager of entertainment and licensing at Hasbro and was a member of the executive team responsible for the Hasbro-Discovery joint venture. Before Hasbro, Licht worked at Twentieth Century Fox and Mattel.

Steiner has been named head of girls’ and preschool programming. She previously was senior vice president of creative affairs at Warner Bros. Animation, where she oversaw development and production of “The Batman,” “Legion of Super Heroes” and “Teen Titans.” Steiner has also worked for Cartoon Network and ABC Entertainment.

“Lisa and Linda represent very significant additions to the executive team at Hasbro Studios,” says Stephen Davis, Hasbro Studios’ president. “Both have held key positions at some of the most successful companies in the children’s entertainment arena and are well respected for their leadership and accomplishments. They will make substantial contributions as we shape the iconic Hasbro brands along with other emerging and existing properties into new forms of visual entertainment.”

Hasbro Studios plans to create worldwide programming across all platforms based on its popular brands, including Romper Room, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Cranium, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, Game of Life, Tonka and Transformers. The studio will also produce programming from third-party content creators. Many of the programs will air on the upcoming Hasbro-Discovery joint venture TV network (fall 2010), as well as other channels.
