HIT Movies is the newest division created by HIT Entertainment (Booths #2418, #2622) to focus on the production of family-oriented movies from the company’s property roster, as well as new projects. The producer and rights owner has teamed up with United Talent Agency (UTA) to expand brands and seek partnerships for the new business venture, including toys, books, television, home entertainment and live events. HIT Movies will first focus on creating film franchises inspired by Thomas & Friends, Barney, Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina and Rainbow Magic.
“Thomas, Barney, Bob and Angelina as among the biggest stars in family entertainment and we’re thrilled to be onboard to create new opportunities in media and entertainment for these iconic characters, and to help HIT build ever greater audicences worldwide,” says Jeremy Zimmer, co-founder and board member of United Talent Agency.
HIT Movies will be based in Los Angeles and led by Julia Pistor, the former executive vice president of movies at Nickelodeon.
