Nintendo to Develop Portable 3-D Device
On the heels of 3-D film successes, including Fox’s Avatar and Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Nintendo is developing a 3-D handheld gaming device, tentatively called Nintendo 3DS.
Nintendo expects to launch the new device before March 2011. The company says the system will not require 3-D glasses and plans to provide further details this June at E3. The Nintendo 3DS would succeed the Nintendo DS, released in 2004, which has sold more than 125 million units.
