Retailer Philip Green, TV’s Simon Cowell to Join Forces

American Idol, Britain’s Got Talent and X-Factor judge and impresario Simon Cowell and Arcadia owner Sir Philip Green are going into business together.

The business, which would have bases in London and Los Angeles, would create television content and exploit merchandising opportunities. Cowell is currently renegotiating a number of his television deals.
Green’s Arcadia stores — including Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge and Bhs — have become increasingly involved in direct-to-retail and wholesale licensing deals over the past few seasons.
