Apparel and footwear retailers have launched Where the Wild Things Are-themed merchandise in time for the Warner Bros. film’s Friday release. This week, NYC & Company is also promoting the film throughout the area.
Special-edition T-shirts, leggings and pillows inspired by the movie are now available at Urban Outfitters. Ugg Australia will begin pre-orders on Oct. 24 for three limited-edition kids’ boot styles, featuring art from the film. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Throughout New York City, movie-related events will be taking place, including book readings at The New York Public Library with the film’s actors, Catherine Keener, Forest Whitaker and Max Records. There will also be a Where the Wild Things Are Kodak photo booth. Also, The Morgan Library & Museum will showcase original artwork from author Maurice Sendak.
NYC & Company, a private non-profit, is the official tourism and marketing organization for New York City.
