Seiffert Joins Sci Fi Ventures, Beefs Up Gaming

Sci Fi Ventures, owner of the Sci Fi Channel, has appointed Alan Seiffert to the newly-created senior vice president position. The company has also ramped up its online gaming business, securing two new deals with Acclaim Games and ZooKazoo. Seiffert, who recently served as a senior vice president of business development and partnerships for CNBC Asia Pacific, will begin his role in May.

He will be responsible for developing new business strategies and partnerships to expand the reach of the Sci Fi brand, specifically in digital gaming, mobile, technology, licensing and merchandising and youth segments.

Meanwhile, Sci Fi partnered with Acclaim Games and ZooKazoo to create a range of online games and entertainment destinations, including casual games and an online kids’ Sci Fi club, respectively. The first game, Tales of Magic, will debut on SciFi.com this spring. Brand Sense Partners helped broker the Acclaim Games deal.
