Transformers Tops Global Box Office at $387.3 Million

Paramount and DreamWorks’ Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, in association with Hasbro, has reached $387.3 million in global ticket sales through Sunday. Domestically, Transformers 2 topped Spider-Man 2’s five-day record sales for a Wednesday launch at $201.2 million. The film also came close to the best five-day gross of all time generated by The Dark Knight, which posted $203.8 million in ticket sales.

The second installment based on the Hasbro toy property currently has promotions running with Kmart, Burger King, Mars Snackfood US and others. Jem Sportswear recently launched an apparel line, while FAB Starpoint was signed for watches, clocks and backpacks. Activision has released a game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2, PSP, DS and Windows PC.
