Jewelry licensee Ancestors and V&A Enterprises has named the winning student designers in a competition that required them to create a jewelry collection inspired by the collections of London’s Victoria & Albert Museum. Aimed at providing the students with genuine commercial experience, Ancestors and the V&A worked closely with universities in the UK on the annual competition.
The winners Nicola Dessent (fine jewelry category) and Sarah Spalding (costume jewelry category), come from Buckinghamshire New University and Duncan of Jordanstone College (Dundee University), respectively. Their winning designs will form part of Ancestors’ autumn 2009 Inspired! collection, which is sold internationally across department stores, mail order and shopping channels.
