The comedic art brand Aunty Acid has launched a worldwide licensing program that now includes greeting cards, mugs, gifts, stationery, calendars and books.
The brand, which was created to give “the crazy old lady in all of us a voice,” features Aunty Acid and her long-suffering husband Walt. Launched solely on social media in 2012, the brand now reaches more than 26 million people each week through daily postings and has more than 1 million likes on Facebook.
“Aunty Acid is the fresh voice of an older generation that appeals to a wide demographic,” says Julie Newman, president, Jewel Branding & Licensing, Aunty Acid’s licensing agent. “She says the things that most of us wouldn’t dare say but are thinking, which would explain why it resonates with so many people. We’re looking forward to further growing the licensing program into a wide range of products.”
The brand’s greeting cards and gifting line were launched earlier this month by licensee Leanin’ Tree.
The brand is also available for licensing in other categories including apparel, collectibles, novelties, stationery, plush, toys and games.
