Discovery Channel has appointed Kidz Entertainment / EEMC to represent the brand, including Animal Planet, in Nordic and Eastern Europe. The Discovery channels enjoy a strong and loyal viewer base across the region and Kidz aims to draw out the learning aspects of the brand for families and children.
CEO Morten Geschwendtner says, “We know from LEGO that there is a different kind of licensee and consumer that we can reach with lifestyle brands. The magazine publishing opportunities for Discovery brands, for example, are very different from an entertainment brand. The channel has a strong name, recognition and following in the region and we think licensing has strong potential to grow.”
