The presentation will include opportunities and challenges related to developing licensing programs in Latin America. Attendees will learn about the market in general and we will examine case studies one how companies have introduced licensed products in various Latin American countries.

Patricia currently spearheads the global licensing program in Remington Arms. Prior to joining Remington, she was the Senior Licensing Manager for the Swedish multinational Electrolux, where she was responsible for developing licensing programs for brands such as Frigidaire, White-Westinghouse and Philco. Through her career, Patricia has lectured on a variety of intellectual property topics.

Elias E. Hofman is the president of Exim Licensing Group (www.eximlicensing.com), which has become the largest licensing agency in Latin America, with offices in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Mexico and a small office in Madrid. The company moved its headquarters to Miami several years ago.

Elias earned his MBA and PHD in Economy from the University of Buenos Aires. He has also authored several books on the subjects of Administration and Management, and has participated as a panelist in many seminars on the subject of licensing. Elias has also taught economics at the University of Buenos Aires, the University of Mar del Plata (Argentina), the Universidad de la Republica (Uruguay) and The Lujan University (Buenos Aires).

David Diesendruck is the President of Redibra, the pioneer Licensing Agency in Brazil. Founded by his father, Elcan, 45 years ago, it was the Disney representative in Brazil for 32 years, until 1994 when Disney opened their own operation. David worked at Disney Consumer Products in Burbank and Miami from 1993 until 1998. He left as VP Licensing for Latin America.

In 1998 Redibra was re-opened by David as an independent licensing agency and currently represents brands such as Cartoon Network, Fox, Sesame Workshop, Televisa, Coca-Cola and MTV.

Since 1998 Redibra was awarded as the Best Global Agency by Sesame Street, Televisa and Fox.

Redibra also won in 2011 the Best Licensing Agency award voted by licensees and retailers in Brazil.
