Licensing Expo 2018 is a proud participant in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Buyer Program (IBP) Select.

Through IBP Select, the U.S. Department of Commerce is available at Licensing Expo to assist qualified U.S. brand owners and exhibitors interested in expanding their international business. With the Department’s network of offices in U.S. Embassies and Consulates worldwide, IBP Select recruits international buyer delegations and brings them to select trade shows and conferences in the U.S., connecting U.S. companies with international retailers and buyers.

International Trade Specialists from the U.S. Department will also be onsite at Licensing Expo to provide export counseling, matchmaking services, market analyses, and more!

EXPORT INTEREST DIRECTORY

With support from the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. brand owners have the opportunity to be included in the Export Interest Directory which is then distributed to international licensees, manufacturers, and retailers who take part in the IBP Select program.

Deadline for submissions is March 16, 2018.

 

INTERNATIONAL TRADE COUNSELING

International Trade Specialists from the U.S. Department of Commerce will be onsite at Licensing Expo in the International Trade Center (ITC) to assist U.S. brands looking to grow into new international territories. Be sure to stop by the ITC to meet with one of these Specialists at Licensing Expo.

GLOBAL MATCHMAKING

Through the Matchmaking Service, U.S. brands are able to connect with licensees and buyers brought by IBP Select to Licensing Expo. International Trade Specialists will also also available for meeting requests in the system. Note: only registered attendees and exhibitors can take advantage of this Service.

In 2018, IBP Select will focus on building a network of connections across the thriving licensing markets of Brazil, Canada, China, Ecuador, and India. Licensees, retailers, and manufacturers from these 5 target countries will actively seek U.S. brands looking to make business connections with these territories.

Retail sales of licensed products in Brazil totalled $3.83 BN* in 2017. The top three licensing categories for the country include:

  • 14.0% - Apparel ($535 MM)
  • 13.7% - Toys ($525 MM)
  • 11.1% - Fashion Accessories ($426 MM)

CANADA

Retail sales of licensed products in Canada totalled $7.76 BN* in 2017. The top three licensing categories for the country include:

  • 14.2% - Toys ($1.10 MM)
  • 13.4% - Apparel ($1.04 MM)
  • 9.3% - Fashion Accessories ($721 MM)

CHINA

Retail sales of licensed products in China totalled $8.07 BN* in 2017. The top three licensing categories for the country include:

  • 22.9% - Toys ($1.85 BN)
  • 20.9% - Fashion Accessories ($1.68 BN)
  • 11.8% - Apparel ($951 MM)

INDIA

Retail sales of licensed products in India totalled $1.39 BN* in 2017. The top three licensing categories for the country include:

  • 24.2% - Fashion Accessories ($338 MM)
  • 14.0% - Health & Beauty ($196 MM)
  • 13.1% - Footwear ($183 MM)

ECUADOR

As part of Latin America, retail sales of licensed products in this territory totalled $9.95 BN* in 2017. The top three licensing categories for Latin America include:

  • 14.9% - Toys ($1.48 BN)
  • 11.6% - Apparel ($1.15 BN)
  • 9.2% - Fashion Accessories ($918 MM)
